Photo by Loic Leray on Unsplash Risks are personal to each of us. Some think that climbing a mountain or going scuba diving is risky, others think striking up a conversation with a stranger is. Today, I want you to ask yourself: what is something that you want to do, but are afraid to?
With physical danger out of the question, it is important that we regularly do things that challenge us in this way: that make us feel nervous. Once you get past that initial discomfort, you'll find that not only were you impressed with yourself for taking that risk (maybe it was easier that you thought), but that the risk can be incredibly nourishing. If you are worn down or stuck in a routine, fire yourself up to take on something we think of as risky. Risk is relative, and it always seems greater in our minds. For example, here are some things that I considered risky once upon a time, and some still make me nervous to this day. But every time I pushed through it, I was grateful:
I hope that you will take the plunge today and do that thing that intimidates you, I know you probably have something in the back of your mind. Comfort kills growth: trust the net to appear after you jump.
